The Season of Longing

This Sunday marks the beginning of Advent—the season of preparation leading up to Christmas. Advent is a time of waiting, hope, and longing, as we look back to Christ’s first coming in Bethlehem and forward to His promised return.

In many churches, Advent is shaped by Scripture readings that cange from year to year, drawing us into the story of God’s faithfulness and our anticipation of His Kingdom.

For this season, I’ll be sharing each Wednesday some short Advent devotions—a brief Bible passage with an accompanying prayer that I originally wrote for my church’s Advent devotional project in 2024. My hope is that they will help us wait well, watch with expectation, and rejoice in the Light who has come into the world.
